An Ocala man was arrested after pocketing $21 in hot dogs and hamburger meat without paying at Family Dollar.
James Earl Booker, 60, entered Family Dollar, located at 400 N Main St., around 6:35 p.m. Friday, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department.
He walked down the canned food aisle toward the cooler section, where he selected two packages of what appeared to be hot dogs. He proceeded to the freezer section and picked up two rolls of frozen hamburger meat before heading toward the laundry aisle. The store manager then came from the back room to see a roll of frozen hamburger meat fall from Booker’s clothes onto the floor, the report said.
He laughed and continued walking toward the front of the store. The store manager told the cashier that he was still inside the business, contacted law enforcement and began reviewing surveillance footage, the report said…
