A driver was arrested after speeding by more than 50 miles per hour on County Road 466.
An officer on patrol spotted 20-year-old David Estevan Quiroga-Salazar of Winter Garden driving a black Ford Mustang eastbound on County Road 466 at noon Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department.
The vehicle went down a small hill after crossing the intersection of Rolling Acres Road, an area that was wet from an earlier rain shower. It was going well above the posted speed limit of 40 mph, and radar confirmed the vehicle was traveling 96 mph. After approaching the vehicle for a traffic stop, it rapidly slowed and stopped at the Gold In Art jewelry store on County Road 466.
