First cat cafe in Ocala now open

Ocala’s first cat cafe is officially open for business, giving local residents the chance to engage with and possibly adopt rescued felines in an inviting environment.

Purrs and Pages, a combined bookstore and cat lounge, is now operating at 1216 E Silver Springs Blvd. The venue stands as Ocala’s very first cat cafe, providing a dedicated space where local humans and rescued cats can relax, read, and interact.

The facility functions as both a community space and an active adoption hub. Business operators state that their core mission is to connect rescued cats with potential permanent homes.

To achieve this, the business works closely alongside local animal rescue organizations. Most of the free-roaming felines living inside the cafe are fully adoptable and looking for a permanent family.

Visitors to the storefront can choose from a few different ways to experience the space. For those wanting direct feline interaction, dedicated hangout sessions can be booked to go inside the designated cat room to play with the residents…
