Deputy nabs driver with 15 active suspensions on his license

A traffic stop for a broken taillight led to the arrest of a driver who was found to have 15 active suspensions on his license.

Juan Carlos Cadavid, 38, of Kissimmee, was driving a black 2020 Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck at about 9:41 p.m. Monday when he was pulled over by a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy in Oxford.

According to an arrest report, the deputy initiated the traffic stop after noticing a large amount of white light emitting from the truck’s broken driver-side taillight.

When the deputy approached the vehicle, Cadavid was the sole occupant. He reportedly admitted he knew the light was broken and then spontaneously confessed that he did not have a valid driver’s license, claiming it had been suspended due to unpaid toll violations.
