Ocala hoping to increase construction of affordable housing, improve quality with changes to city code

The Ocala City Council will vote on the first reading of an ordinance next week that would update the city’s Housing Incentive Fund loan structure, giving developers greater flexibility when building or preserving affordable housing units.

During its regular meeting on Tuesday, August 4, city leaders will consider Ordinance 2026-27, which amends Chapter 106, Section 105 of the city’s Code of Ordinances.
