An Ocala man was arrested for driving with an invalid license after being stopped with a freshly opened beer.
An officer on patrol observed 53-year-old Billy Wayne Wyatt driving a silver Mercury sedan without wearing a seatbelt around 9:45 a.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. He turned into Superwash, located at 229 U.S. Hwy. 441, right as she activated her emergency lights for a traffic stop.
While explaining the reason for the stop, the officer noticed a Natural Ice beer can with dew on the outside in the cup holder. Wyatt stated it was old and just hung his head low when the officer mentioned the dew. The beer was cold to the touch and appeared to have just been opened, given how full it was, the report said.
There were also three other cold beers in a Publix bag on the front passenger seat. Wyatt did not appear to be intoxicated, and he did not smell of alcohol, the report said…
