A Middleton man reportedly peed his pants during a drunk driving investigation.
Shaunwan Van Wyk, 29, who lives in the family community near The Villages Charter School, was driving a Kia Soul westbound at about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday on State Road 44 a quarter mile west of County Road 219 when a Florida Highway Patrol trooper noticed the vehicle did not have its headlights on.
Van Wyk provided his documentation upon request, but the trooper noted the vehicle’s insurance was expired, according to the arrest report. There were several open containers of alcohol in the car, including two 24-ounce Yuengling Traditional Lager cans and three 24-ounce Foster’s Lager cans. Some of the cans were empty. Van Wyk initially denied he had been drinking but then said he had consumed two of the beverages.
During a pat-down for weapons, the trooper “felt a wet spot” on the right side of Van Wyk’s pants. The trooper also “smelled urine.”…
