Developer of new Marion hotel seeking to lower water estimate from 12,100 to 6,300 gallons per day

The developer of a hotel in Silver Springs is asking Marion County to revise its methodology for estimating the property’s water demand, saying the actual usage will be lower than the county’s standard estimate.

The Marion County Board of County Commissioners will discuss the proposed Memorandum of Understanding with local developer HDG Legacy during its regular meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 1.
