PWAC to spend $30,000 to figure out problem with shifting tunnel

Concrete still is shifting at a problem tunnel under Morse Boulevard near Meggison Road.

Despite some misgivings, members of the Project Wide Advisory Committee Monday unanimously approved a nearly $30,000 contract for a structural evaluation of a tunnel wall.

Under the supervision of Kimley-Horn and Associates, Andreyev Engineering will conduct a subsurface investigation to discover why a parapet wall just outside the tunnel has shifted by about a quarter inch over 18 months…
