Ocala man identified as winner of $500,000 lottery ticket sold at local gas station

An Ocala man has been officially identified as the winner of a $500,000 lottery scratch-off prize purchased at a local gas station.

Randall Alan Klapp, of Ocala, was identified as the winner of the top prize from the “$500,000 Cash Blowout” scratch-off game over the weekend. According to updated Florida Lottery records, Klapp resides in the 34480 zip code area of southeast Marion County.

Klapp purchased the winning ticket at the Lake Weir Marathon, located at 3820 SE Lake Weir Avenue in Ocala. Although he claimed the prize on July 20, his identity remained exempt from public disclosure under Florida Statute 24.1051, which temporarily shields the names of lottery winners who claim prizes valued at $250,000 or more for 90 days from the date of the claim.

With the statutory 90-day privacy period now expired, state lottery records publicly list Klapp as the ticket holder on Monday morning…
