A severe crash involving hazardous materials has shut down the Florida Turnpike near The Villages.
The crash occurred at Mile Marker 304, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
All southbound lanes of the Florida Turnpike will be shut down in Sumter County for an unknown amount of time. The sheriff’s office will be diverting traffic from getting onto the southbound Florida Turnpike from Interstate 75. The Wildwood Police Department is shutting down the southbound entrance ramp to the turnpike at U.S. 301 (Main Street.)
