The Crave Hot Dogs & BBQ establishment situated in Ocala’s Shady Oaks Shopping Center, which introduced six lanes of axe throwing and self-service beer when it opened in August, seems to have temporarily halted its operations.
A sign affixed to the restaurant’s door at 2463 SW 27th Ave., posted late last year and still visible as of Jan. 19, conveys that the closure is attributed to electrical problems.
Michael Lutz, hailing from Dunnellon, is identified as the manager of Kicking Grass Properties, the entity holding the business license in the city of Ocala. He also serves as the owner of the Ocala franchise of Crave Hot Dogs & BBQ. Despite its promising start in August, the restaurant faced closure before the end of the year.
Notably, the umbrella corporation for Crave Hot Dogs & BBQ is headquartered in New York, overseeing its locations across 18 states. In Florida, Crave has established its presence in Orlando, Venice, and Lakeland, with three other locations listed as “coming soon,” including Lady Lake.
