Florida Pastor Has Man Arrested for Sleeping Behind Church

Officers first responded to a report of Ralph Wainwright allegedly trespassing outside the church on Jan. 4

Authorities arrested a seemingly homeless man after a Florida pastor called police to complain he was sleeping behind his church.

Ralph Wainwright has been charged with trespassing , jail records indicate.

It’s unclear if he entered a plea to the charge.

Wainwright, 42, was taken into custody while asleep outside the Live Oak Community Church in Wildwood, Florida, on Jan. 15, his arrest report stated, according to The National Desk .

“The defendant was previously warned by the church pastor that he was not to be on the property, and was asked to leave,” the report read. “The defendant returned to the property several different times and was reminded that he could not be there.”

Clergy members accused Wainwright of frequently encroaching on church grounds despite several requests he leaves.
