Two people were shot and killed at different Summerfield locations. What happened?

Marion County Sheriff’s Office officials have released the names of two people who were fatally shot in Summerfield over the weekend.

Authorities have identified the two as Wendolyn Nestashia Chisholm, 34, and Jerry Eugene Tuggle, 64. Chisholm was from Ocala and Tuggle from Summerfield.

Detectives said both died from gunshot wounds. They have not said anything about their relationship, nor have they said anything about the circumstances of the shootings. The sheriff’s office did say it is not looking for a shooter or shooters in connection with the deaths.

Call for service and bodies found

According to sheriff’s officials, shortly before 8 p.m. on Aug. 3, deputies were called to a home in the 3000 block of Southeast 141st Place in Summerfield in reference to gunshots. This area is south of County Road 484 and west of U.S. 301.

When Deputy Trent Adams arrived, he was stopped by a man who said he had called 911.

The caller said he heard gunshots coming from the 14100 block of Southeast 30th Terrace. The man said he heard a female voice screaming after hearing the shots. He said he did not witness any shooting. The deputy said he heard a gunshot while talking to the man.
