Concert for Good and more: Fun things to do this weekend in Ocala/Marion County

THIS WEEKEND

4th annual Concert for Good and the inaugural 5K for Good

The Concert for Good will be held at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 28 at the Ocala Civic Theatre. Tickets are $15. The inaugural 5K for Good will begin at 7:30 a.m. that same day at the Baseline Trailhead. Early bird registration begins at $30. Both events will raise funds for Brother’s Keeper and the Marion County Children’s Alliance.

The events are co-founded by brothers Caleb and Luke Lombardo. Since 2021, the concert has raised more than $55,000. They hope to raise $30,000 this year alone. Luke Lombardo is a junior at West Port High School and brother Caleb, a West Port graduate, is in his freshman year at the U.S. Air Force Academy. The band at the concert is made up of musicians Caleb has known over the years from a variety of performances, churches and schools. They range in age from 16 to their late 20s.

R.A.M.A.L. Holiday Charity Ball

This Mardi Gras-style fundraiser will be held 6-11 p.m. Dec. 28 at the Mary Sue Rich Center at Reed Place, 1821 NW 21st Ave., Ocala. “This vibrant event will not only celebrate the spirit of Mardi Gras but also raise funds for some of Ocala, Marion County’s favorite charities,” organizers say, including Kut Different Summer Mentoring Program, The ROCK Program Outreach Van, Marion County Boys & Girls Club Summer Camp, Estelle Byrd Whitman Wellness Center, and R.A.M.A.L.
