A Wildwood woman was killed after stepping in front of a car traveling on State Road 44.
The 40-year-old pedestrian was in the eastbound lane of State Road 44 at Cypress Drive in Leesburg at about 4 a.m. Thursday when she walked into the path of a 2015 Ford Focus which was headed east on State Road 44, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
