A nervous woman was arrested with drugs at the Chrome Shop on State Road 44 in Wildwood.
Jodie Katherine McGowan, 33, of Summerfield, was getting into a red Ford Fusion at about 8 p.m. Thursday when a deputy ran the vehicle’s license plate and discovered the vehicle’s registered owner has a suspended license, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. McGowan started to drive away and the deputy immediately initiated a traffic stop.
When the deputy approached McGowan she was “shaking” and “appeared nervous.” A K-9 unit was summoned to the scene and the dog alerted on the car indicating the likely presence of drugs.
