Angry woman arrested after threatening violence at local Starbucks

An angry woman was arrested after allegedly threatening violence at a local Starbucks.

Laura Ann Hornick, 56, of Lady Lake, was at the Starbucks at the corner of U.S. Hwy. 27/441 and Rolling Acres Road at about 2 p.m. Monday when she went into the coffee shop and demanded to speak to a supervisor, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

Hornick said she had stopped to help an elderly gentleman who had fallen when a woman in a car honked at her. Horick was “belligerent” and told the Starbucks manager she would kill the woman driver, the report said. Hornick said if she ever saw the woman in Starbucks again, she would, “Drag her out of the store and beat her ass.”

Police arrived at the Starbucks and spoke to the woman who had been driving the car. She said she was in her car when Hornick approached the driver’s side of the vehicle and “began forcefully banging on the window,” the report said. Hornick began “screaming” at the woman through the window, calling her profane names…
