Man who had been drinking arrested in altercation with girlfriend

A Fruitland Park man was arrested for assault after allegedly throwing his arm up as if to hit his girlfriend.

A deputy responded to a domestic dispute at an undisclosed Fruitland Park residence at 11:50 p.m. Tuesday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. Upon arrival, he met with the female victim who appeared to be drunk. She stated she and her partner of seven years, 33-year-old Brian David Crosby, had been drinking.

The victim explained that Crosby got aggressive, causing her to fear for her safety. She acted out Crosby standing in front of her and throwing his arm up with his hand in a fist. He swung at her as if he was going to hit her. He did not actually hit her, but his actions made her feel threatened, the report said…
