Report: Woman hit and killed by train in Belleview was diagnosed with dementia and depression

A woman hit and killed by a CSX train earlier this year in Belleview was a ward of the state at the time and had been diagnosed with dementia and depression, police say.

The Belleview Police Department, which investigated the Feb. 12 death, reports that Rose Marie Mullins, who had just turned 66, was a resident at Prestige Manor Assisted Living in Belleview.

She was hit by the train at Southeast Front Road and Earp Road. According to the police report, the train’s conductor told Belleview Police Cpl. Alex Harrington that the woman had been riding a bicycle near the tracks. She got off the bicycle, laid on the tracks, and was hit by the train…
