Severe Thunderstorm, Large Hail, Tornado Risk For Central Florida

ORLANDO, Florida – Central Florida is set for a wet and stormy afternoon and evening, with severe weather threats on Monday, according to the National Weather Service in Melbourne.

The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has issued a severe weather outlook for Central Florida due to the potential for severe thunderstorms, hail, gusty winds, and tornadoes that are expected to impact the region on Monday, May 5, 2025.

Damaging wind gusts up to 40-50 MPH, lightning strikes, coin-sized hail, and locally heavy rainfall are the main hazards.

The risk for strong to severe storms will mainly focus across the I-95 corridor southward, with the highest coverage and intensity after 3 PM through approximately 10 PM tonight.
