Florida Weather Update: Storms May Bring Hail, Lightning, and 60+ MPH Gusts Along I-95 by 12PM Until 10 PM

Orlando, Florida – Severe thunderstorms could strike parts of east central Florida this evening, bringing 50 mph winds, coin-sized hail, and dangerous lightning to areas west of I-95 between 4 and 10 p.m. Tuesday.

According to the National Weather Service in Melbourne, a Level 1 (Marginal) risk for severe weather covers interior sections from Sanford to Palm Bay. The main threats include scattered strong wind gusts—some potentially exceeding 60 mph—frequent lightning, and locally heavy rainfall capable of causing isolated flooding.

Cities including Deltona, Oviedo, Kissimmee, and Winter Springs may see quick-moving storms with little warning. Drivers along I-4 and U.S. 192 should prepare for reduced visibility and ponding on roads. Power outages are possible if trees or limbs are brought down by gusty winds…
