Wildwood to embark on largest infrastructure project in city’s history

The City of Wildwood will host a groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday, May 14 to kick off construction of its new water reclamation facility at 1290 Industrial Drive. The event begins at 9 a.m. and is open to the public.

The new facility will supplement the city’s existing treatment plant to bring total capacity to 5.5 million gallons per day, with a modular design that allows for future expansion as Wildwood’s population continues to grow.

“This is the largest infrastructure project we have ever undertaken,” said City Manager Jason McHugh. “While absolutely necessary to serve our residents, it also presents an extraordinary cost. Smart design gives us the opportunity to add another 2.5 million gallons per day when needed, but without the additional up-front expense now.”…
