A Belleview woman was arrested on drug charges after snorting fentanyl in the back of a patrol vehicle while they searched her Cadillac.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a gold Cadillac, later identified as 41-year-old Evelyn Gayle Burleson, for speeding on Ice Cream Road and County Road 473, Leesburg, at 10 a.m. Tuesday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
Upon approaching the vehicle, the deputies saw a plastic baggie with clear crystalline residue on the driver’s side of the floorboard. Burleson gave the baggie to one of the deputies who believed the item to be the residue of illegal narcotics. She was then asked to step out of the vehicle, the report said.
In the driver’s door, there was a purple lid and a clear capsule with a clear crystalline residue. There was also a multicolor grinder with a green leafy substance inside of it. In the driver’s side rear floorboard, there was a pill bottle that was adapted into a smoking device using a white tube taped to it. Opening this, there was a brown rock-like substance that looked like burnt heroin, the report said…
