New mother allegedly punches husband during disagreement over newborn’s safety

A Leesburg woman was transferred to Lake County Jail following her arrest for allegedly punching her husband over the safety of their newborn.

At 1:10 p.m. on Monday, May 19, a deputy with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic battery involving 23-year-old Rebekah Lynn Miller at an undisclosed Lake County residence, according to an affidavit of probable cause out of Lake County.

Upon arrival, the deputy met with the male victim. He advised that he, his wife Miller and their seven-day old son were in a travel trailer behind the main residence. They got into a disagreement, and he picked up their newborn to leave the trailer. The disagreement had gotten to the point where he was worried about his safety, the affidavit said.

The victim started recording Miller who was advancing more and more toward him. She then got hysterical and told him to give her their newborn over and over. He told her to back away, or he was going to call the police, the affidavit said…
