Unwelcome son arrested after breaking into father’s home in Leesburg

A Lake Panasoffkee man was arrested after breaking a window to get into his father’s residence where he knew he was not welcome.

A deputy responded to a home on Commander Road, Leesburg, regarding a trespass complaint around 10:45 a.m. Sunday, June 1, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. The victim called dispatch to say he was out of town, and his son, 30-year-old Jake Adam Boyce, was on his porch.

The victim did not want Boyce to be at the residence due to several past issues. Boyce was aware of this fact due to a recent incident on Friday, May 30. He did not live with the victim, but after being removed from his previous address, he had started showing up at the victim’s residence, the report said.

Upon arrival, the deputy saw Boyce’s vehicle on the property. He approached the residence to see a piece of luggage on the screened-in porch. Walking around to the other side of the porch, he observed an open screen door, the report said…
