A Lady Lake teen was arrested for battery after allegedly punching his girlfriend over a missing phone.
Officers responded to a battery, later found to involve 18-year-old Jakyreon Lavonne Cooper, at an undisclosed Lake County residence at 11 a.m. Tuesday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.
Upon arrival, the officers met the female victim and a witness. The victim and Cooper were dating and had been living together for about seven months. Due to this, the incident was investigated as domestic in nature, the report said.
The victim advised that Cooper was looking for his misplaced phone at about 10 a.m. and started accusing her of having it. She told him she did not have it, nor did she know where it was. He became irate and began throwing things around the bedroom, the report said…
