A Lake County man was arrested for battery after allegedly swinging a dustpan at his girlfriend, shattering the object and leaving her with cuts.
Officers responded to a 911 call from a woman saying 42-year-old Elliot Webb at struck her at an undisclosed Lake County residence around 1:20 a.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.
Upon arrival, the officers found Webb’s girlfriend up the street from the residence. They secured the perimeter of the home to find him, the report said.
His girlfriend stated they had been in a relationship for about four years and lived together for two. They began arguing after he mumbled something to her. The argument escalated, and he picked up a blue dustpan with a long handle to swing at her head, the report said…
