Suspected thief claims baby bag stolen from Target belongs to ‘friend’

A Summerfield woman was arrested after stealing a baby bag from Target but claiming her “friend” asked her to retrieve her bag.

An officer responded to a theft at Target, located at 716 N U.S. Hwy. 441, on Friday. Jan. 20, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. Dispatch advised that a woman matching the description of 36-year-old Sarah Marie Finn left the store and got into the passenger side of a blue Chevrolet.

Once at the store, the officer spoke to an asset protection specialist who gave a more detailed description of Finn. They also stated she came into the building at 5:11 p.m. with a man in a yellow shirt. She picked up two laundry baskets and a Bogg baby bag worth $80, the report said.

Finn paid for everything except for the baby bag before leaving the store at 5:28 p.m. Asset protection came up to her and introduced themselves at the exit doors. She tried to avoid them and fled the scene, but asset protection was able to retrieve the baby bag, the report said…
