Two homeless men busted during drug deal near known narcotics residence

A pair of homeless men in Leesburg were arrested on drug charges when an officer saw what looked like a narcotic deal happening between them.

An officer patrolling Tuskegee Street and Harlem Avenue spotted 43-year-old Leroy Alexander Rogers sitting on the ground near the intersection around 11 a.m. Friday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. He also saw 65-year-old John Michael Ehlenbauch walking from a known narcotics residence at 2113 Harlem Ave.

The two met each other in the middle of the block, and the officer saw what looked like a hand-to-hand narcotics transaction. Ehlenbauch then walked east on Harlem Avenue while Rogers went west. The officer approached Rogers who admitted that Ehlenbauch sold him crack, the report said.

Rogers showed him a small loose chunk of a white cake-like substance consistent with crack cocaine and a glass pipe with burnt residue used to smoke it. It later tested positive for cocaine and weighed 0.7 grams, the report said…
