U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement slapped a hold on an Orlando man for driving without a license in Oxford.
A deputy spotted a white Chevy Cruze passenger car headed north on U.S. Hwy. 301 and County Road 466 around 8:05 a.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. A check of the tag showed that the registered owner, 42-year-old Rogerio Monteiro Dos Santos, did not have a valid driver’s license.
The deputy stopped the vehicle and asked Dos Santos for his driver’s license, registration and proof of insurance, to which Dos Santos handed over a Brazilian license. He advised that he had an appointment to get a driver’s license next week, but did not currently have a license in the United States, the report said…
