Ocala teen representing Team USA at Skating Championships in China

An accomplished 16-year-old inline speed skater from Ocala will represent the United States of America in one of the most prestigious international skating competitions later this year.

Brady Ankney will travel to China this fall to represent Team USA in the 2025 Speed World Championships, which take place from September 13 to September 21 in Beidaihe.

World Skate identifies itself as the governing body for all sports performed on skating wheels. The organization’s roller sports are featured in The World Games, which will be held in Chengdu, China in August.

The trip to China represents the culmination of years of dedication to the sport by Ankney, who took up the sport less than a decade ago.
