Traffic backed up for hours on Florida interstate after truck hits overpass

OCALA, Fla. (WFLA) — Traffic on a Florida interstate was backed up nearly all-day Friday after a semi-truck hit an overpass.

The crash happened just after 10 a.m. on Interstate 75 in Ocala, according to reports by NBC affiliate WESH.

FDOT begins demolition process on 1960s Howard Frankland Bridge

Florida Highway Patrol troopers said a semi-truck hauling a large excavator on a flatbed trailer struck the Southwest 66th Street overpass.

Debris could be seen covering the roadway, and long lines of cars stretched down the interstate as workers cleared the area.

No injuries were reported…
