Firefighters were alerted to a house fire at 4 a.m. Saturday morning off of County Road 473 in Leesburg.
Lake County Engine 71 and Leesburg Ladder 63 arrived at the scene simultaneously. They confirmed that the fire was in a residential structure. Ladder 63 firefighters immediately searched the structure and determined that the fire was in an interior room. They used a water can to check the fire until a hose line was able to reach the fire which was then extinguished.
Ladder 63 then searched the interior and confirmed an all clear of the structure. Engine 61 had a Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) ready to enter the building should a firefighter need to be rescued. Battalion 60 assisted with command of the fire.
