The issues often faced in the Village of McClure gate off of Marsh Bend Trail at Corbin Trail is that the arms are not readily visible during certain times of the day due to the sun angles. When motorists don’t see the gate arms, the arms get struck.
I suggest a study involving the effectiveness of mounting a conventional stop sign on the gate arm motor box. We have observed that when arms are missing and the A-Frame with a STOP sign is deployed until the arm can be repaired, motorists at least slow down before the stop sign and are more cautious when passing through the gate.
