If you don’t like how the Morse family and the District operate The Villages it’s time for you to move

I see a lot of complaining lately about this and that, but I also see a lot of people who are making statements with details that are not correct.

First off, I saw someone saying something about us footing the bill as the Morse family collects debt. First off we are NOT footing any bill for the Morse family. The facts you have are way off how things work here. There are two entities that run The Villages. The District side and the Developer side. They have very little to do with each other. The District side runs everything once it gets turned over to them. Community Watch, rec centers, golf, it all falls under the District. It has NOTHING to do with the Morse family. So if the fees go up, that is the District, not the Morse family. Oh and by the way, I see people complaining about fees. Not sure what fees you speak of. I have been here four years and my fees are the same as they were day one. The Morse family builds and owns land it rents. That is it. Once they are done building and they sell everything, they eventually turn it over to the District and wipe their hands of it. People need to understand that.

Now on to age restrictions. You could turn over control to God and it would not matter. If someone in The Villages bought a home and they are under 55, they are staying. You cannot force someone to sell a home they own. Look it up, it’s law 101. No chance they are ever getting kicked out. So stop worrying about it. I bought here before 55, have no kids, and I am the quietest family on the block. Just as much trouble happens in here for the older people drinking too much as the younger ones…
