A Leesburg man who stole from Walmart on July Fourth was arrested this week at Dairy Queen.
An officer responded to Walmart, located at 2501 Citrus Blvd., regarding retail theft around 2:35 p.m., July 4, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. Upon arrival, he met with a loss prevention officer and 46-year-old Joseph Ryan Price.
Loss prevention advised that he was alerted to Price walking around in the automotive department and hiding merchandise on himself. He then went to the outdoor department where he was seen opening the merchandise on live feed security footage. He proceeded to the bicycle department, where he picked up more items, before choosing a baseball hat from an endcap and putting it on his head, the report said.
Price went to self-checkout where he paid for some bicycle merchandise but did not scan the other items he had concealed on his person. He walked toward the north side exit doors where he was met by loss prevention and escorted to their office. They recovered a 500L headlight, a pair of Axil earbuds and a baseball cap, all worth $103.85, the report said…
