Leesburg man from Mexico to be turned over to ICE afte driving on expired license

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement placed a hold on a Leesburg man who had not replaced his expired driver’s license since 2009.

An officer observed a red Ford pickup truck, driven by 41-year-old Humberto Hernandez-Diaz, ahead of him on Marsh Bend Trail around 2:20 p.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department.

The officer heard a loud exhaust noise coming from the truck, and the exhaust fumes had a strong odor. He also noticed the front windshield was cracked. He then turned on his emergency lights for a traffic stop, the report said.

He asked Hernandez-Diaz for his driver’s license and registration, to which he was given a defaced, unreadable Mexico ID card. He asked for a U.S. driver’s license or passport instead. Hernandez-Diaz stated he did not have either document, the report said…
