Unlicensed driver recklessly swerves into oncoming lane to avoid traffic stop

A Leesburg man was arrested after recklessly driving a truck towing a trailer through a residential area to avoid being pulled over.

An officer observed a dark Ford truck, driven by 25-year-old Keynan Renay Graham, with a black open-style trailer in tow on Perkins Street around 9:40 p.m. Saturday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.

As the vehicle slowed down to turn left onto Herndon Street, the officer saw the trailer did not have any working lights on the back of the trailer or vehicle. He sped up to catch up to the vehicle, but it sped up, too. The vehicle then swerved into the oncoming lane, ran through the stop sign at Herndon and Lee Street, and turned left, the report said.

The officer immediately turned on his emergency lights and sirens before positioning himself behind the vehicle. It continued heading north on Lee Street at an unsafe speed and swerving into both lanes. Graham was driving in an unsafe, reckless manner, particularly for the condensed residential area they were in, the report said…
