Leesburg teen threatens to stab cousin at apartment complex

A Leesburg teen who was arrested for threatening to stab her cousin was also charged for kicking the officers who handcuffed her.

Officers responded to a weapon complaint involving 18-year-old Echline Cilis at Turtle Oaks Apartments, located at 2311 Griffin Rd., at 2:05 p.m. Tuesday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. Upon arrival, they saw multiple people standing outside yelling at each other. The officers separated them and started to interview them.

The first man they spoke to stated he, his mother and male cousin came to the apartment to visit his aunt. During this time, he and his mother were in the living room when they heard his female cousin Cilis and his male cousin arguing in the kitchen. They then went into the kitchen to stop the argument, the report said.

Cilis proceeded to take a kitchen knife, hold it with the blade pointed down, and told the male cousin, “If you come near me, I will stab you.” The man and his mother grabbed Cilis and took her outside to separate her from the male cousin. The knife stayed in the kitchen, the report said…
