Walmart store in The Villages shut down after internal flooding

A Walmart store in The Villages was shut down after internal flooding.

Crews were scrambling Monday afternoon at the Walmart Neighborhood Market at Sarasota Plaza on County Road 466A after a water main broke at about 2 p.m. Monday.

The store was closed due to water on the floor of the store, causing slick and potentially dangerous situation. A store manager said the water did not get high enough to damage merchandise on display at the store.

Yellow tape blocked the entrance to the store. Water could be seen running out of the store’s rear entrance.

Walmart customers continued to arrive at the store and appeared to be bewildered by the closing…
