There was an article that requested feedback on whether the age-restrictions responsibility should be removed from the Developer. I could not agree more! I feel like I drank the Kool-Aid when we bought in The Villages years ago. We were sold a bill of goods that it was a “retirement community for people 55 and over.” The sales representatives told us, “We are at 60K people and it will top out at 90K,” and now it’s about 155K people. Therefore, we paid more money for our houses than they actually cost in outside areas because we “bought the lifestyle!” We pay monthly amenity fees while people who do not live inside The Villages swim in our pools, and take advantage of the amenities we pay for. I hear outside people say to their visitors, “Come! We will take you to The Villages where…..
