A 65-year-old Ocala doctor accused of inappropriately touching a female patient will avoid going to trial after accepting an “intervention offer” from prosecutors, which includes months of supervision.
Marion County Court records show that on July 1, the defendant in this case – Jose Jacob -agreed to take part in a pre-trial intervention program that includes the following conditions:
- He must be under supervision for 9 months, and he must pay the costs associated with this supervision.
- He must pay a $50 cost of prosecution.
- He must undergo a psycho-sexual evaluation and follow any recommended treatment.
- He must avoid all contact with the victim in this case.
Back on March 24, at around 11:20 a.m., an Ocala Police Department officer responded to the Cardiovascular Institute of Central Florida, which is located at 2105 SW 20th Place, in reference to an alleged battery incident involving a male doctor and female patient.
Upon arrival, the officer made contact with the female patient/victim who advised that her doctor, identified as Jacob, had “asked inappropriate questions and inappropriately touched her” during her exam.
