In respond to several Letters to the Editor, regarding entry gates, please allow me to add, as a 30-year South Florida property manager, gates with gate attendance perform a huge service to the community. If a gate arm is knocked off, there was a gate attendant, right there to move it out of the way. If people have questions or they are lost, the gate attendant performs an invaluable service. With respect to comments about speed bumps: I can tell you that dozens of people each year ,and I’m talking about a community of 200 homes, many people claim the speed bumps are damaging their suspension systems in their cars and are demanding compensation. There is no proof for this, but who needs this problem? Lastly I would like to add that we are not a gated community. We are a restricted access…..
