Leesburg man arrested on drug charges after acting nervous during traffic stop

A Leesburg man was arrested on drug charges after an officer noticed white powder on his pants during a traffic stop.

An officer observed a silver Acura SUV, in which 28-year-old Joshua Daven Kerr was an occupant, headed north on U.S. Hwy. 27/441 around 2:45 p.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Fruitland Park Police Department. He recognized the vehicle from a prior encounter and checked its license plate.

He learned of an incident from May 8 in which 39-year-old Melissa Jo Grauer was arrested for narcotic possession. He also pulled up her driving status and saw she had 10 active license suspensions and cancellations dating back to 2020. The report noted he was able to get a clear view of the driver as the vehicle passed him, and he believed it was Grauer.

The officer noticed the vehicle failed to stay in its lane, as he saw it drifted partially into the bicycle lane on the right shoulder of the road from the right travel lane. So, he initiated a traffic stop and asked Grauer for her license. She advised that she did not have one, the report said…
