Mother and daughter arrested on theft charges at Target in The Villages

A mother and her daughter have been arrested on theft charges at Target at Rolling Acres Plaza in The Villages.

Lauren Bridges, 25, of Fruitland Park, was at the store on Tuesday night when she grabbed a shopping cart and went through several aisles selecting merchandise, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

Meanwhile, her mother, 54-year-old Lisa Bridges, tried to distract the store’s customer service representatives. Bridges went outside, grabbed some reusable shopping bags, reentered the store and put her merchandise in the bags. She left the store with $113 in merchandise for which she had not paid. She was taken into custody on a charge of theft.

Officers found that Bridges’ mother had been charged in a separate retail theft incident. Lisa Bridges was taken into custody on a Lake County warrant issued in that case…
