I didn’t move to Ocala to die in traffic

I have worked, driven, and lived pretty much all over the world. Washington, D.C. was my home. I have been calling Ocala home for the last 14 years; that is a longer duration than the previous five (5) places I resided combined.

The traffic situation in Ocala is an accident waiting to happen. I live at Interstate 75 and US Highway 27. On Thursdays and Fridays, I can’t turn onto US 27 from my 55+ community without having people block the intersections. Others try turning onto entrance ramps to I-75 from the far lanes, blocking both thru lanes. There is little or no enforcement of traffic violations.

I have been so close, so many times, to getting rammed by people who turn to the right onto US 27, and take a large cut of the left turn lanes…
