A Summerfield man with a long history of persistent panhandling was arrested after his unwelcome return to a local Circle K.
A deputy responded to Circle K, located at 14870 U.S. Hwy. 441, Summerfield, regarding a trespasser on the property around 1:40 p.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. While enroute, he learned the subject was identified as 40-year-old Eric Linville Manning who had an active trespass warning. Manning has a long history of begging for money and frightening customers at that Circle K.
Upon arrival, the deputy found Manning on the north side of Sunset Harbor Road across the street from the Circle K parking lot. He tried talking to Manning, but when he was ordered to stop and come toward the deputy, he fled on foot. After a short pursuit, Manning was taken into custody, the report said.
The deputy also went into Circle K and talked to the manager and attendant who called law enforcement. They had surveillance video of Manning walking into the store through the front door to use the bathroom and leaving through the side door a few minutes later, the report said…
