Villagers lined up in the wee hours Wednesday in eager anticipation of the opening of the new Costco at Buffalo Ridge Plaza.
Villagers brought chairs and beverages as they queued up for the official 8 a.m. opening of the wildly popular wholesaler. The pre-dawn gathering created a festive atmosphere.
The new store is 162,000 square feet and includes a 2,000-square-foot liquor store, 700 parking spaces, and a gas station with 32 fuel pumps.
There are plenty of Villagers who have been nervous about the opening of Costco and concerned about the traffic it will bring. An elected official recently remarked that the arrival of Costco is a dream come true for many Villagers and a nightmare for others…
