A driver who didn’t have a license, registration or insurance claimed the car he was driving had been given to him by his late mother.
An officer observed 61-year-old Brian Monroe Neumann of Yalaha in a white Honda Civic stopped at a traffic light in Wildwood around 10:40 a.m. Friday, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department. A check of the tag revealed it was not assigned to any vehicle. It had been assigned at one point, but the previous owner was deceased.
The officer subsequently stopped the vehicle at Circle K, located at 1001 S Main St. He then asked Neumann for his driver’s license, registration and proof of insurance. Neumann stated he did not have a license or insurance, and he got the vehicle from his mother who passed away last year, the report said.
He handed over an ID and a copy of the title where ownership was transferred to his name. The officer ran the VIN through dispatch and learned that vehicle was titled only, not registered. He also discovered Neumann was unlicensed, the report said…
